The Philosophers’ Dinner
Eighteen people, eight formal courses, six philosophical proofs, one very cool evening. $25. November 3, two thousand and eight from 6:18 to 8:45pm ---------------------- The middle six courses of the philosophers’ dinner are each about 15-20 minutes long, and consist of: service of course, presentation of a philosophical demonstration of God together with its presumed refutation, 7-10 minutes of questions and answers, and your vote on its integrity. It’s really fun. A sample menu and schedule are below. Seating and Introduction (6:18pm) An aperitif with French mint candies. Design (6:36pm) Several offerings of fresh breads and appropriate spreads. First Cause (6:56pm) Sushi, saki, and a pate. Foods that end in vowels mostly. Moral (7:16pm) Mango, Cranberry, Dates of Palm, and Lettuces served with Fizzy water. Green is good, other colors are important too. Ontological (7:36pm) Indian Summer Peach Soup with Cinnamon Psychological (7:56pm) Beef Wellington and Guinness. It’s about time England and Ireland made up. Pascal’s Wager (8:15pm) Deep Chocolate Cakes (plural) and Warm Apple Cider.
